Only reading one book? That's so funny. At the moment, I am reading
Lexicon by Max Barry and
Players by Terence Dicks. The first is a physical book while the second is an ebook. I usually have at least one ebook downloaded on my phone so that I always have something to read whenever I'm stuck waiting

I could also mark it as read immediately and add the review later, but leaving it as active reminds me to write the review. If it was aready out of my sight I'd probably never get around to it.

I can't listen to audiobooks when I drive either - I just can't concentrate on both.
When I started reading books in English I went with books I'd read in German before as well. It sure helps a lot.
I generally don't lend books either because yeah ... I'm very particular with my books and I hate getting them back in not so pristine condition.
Loved Enid Blyton as well as a kid. :-)

I saw a tip where someone had got the audio book version of the first Harry Potter book in German as well as the book itself, so they could follow the text along with the audio. Apparently that was very helpful.
Enid Blyton has lost a lot of her popularity now because her books are quite dated. It's a shame really.

I think Enid Blyton's books were already a bit dated in the 70s ... *lol*

I don't understand the reading while driving question, it's bizarre. I saw an older woman reading while walking this morning as I was driving to work. I think I'd fall off the kerb or walk into someone or something if I tried it.

Its an American survey so presumably its a bit safer to do so on long straight journeys through swathes of Middle America, deserts and stuff, wouldn't want to try it in NYC mind! Yes, no clue how anyone can do it. I did recite poetry in my head or memorise Russian vocab on the walk from our hall of residence into town when I was at Uni, but that only involved the odd glance at the paper it was written on to double check a word or two, rest of my attention was firmly on the world around me.
