When you've got 120 pages left in your library book but it's due back tomorrow and you can't renew it because someone else has reserved it...

That'll be a long evening and short night ...

It's about 2 hours of reading. Not too bad.

It was about a third of the book!

Haha, if I have an amount of pages left that's more than I can read in one night, but won't take more than a couple days past the due date, I just return it late and take the fine. But 120 seems doable!

You rebel! I suppose it depends how much the fine is. It's 20p a day here, but then it costs 75p to reserve a book in the first place. It would be cheaper to take the fine than reserve the book again.

It's 30 or 35 cents a day here (depending on which library system), but it's free to put a book on hold! They only charge if you don't pick up the book by the deadline. But it's too much trouble to wait and get it again, haha.

25p works out to 32 cents so that's around the same price for the fines. I really wish it was free to reserve a book though! It's a ridiculous cost. Although they do have a loyalty card so if you reserve 5 books, you get the sixth one free...
