I rather like Dean Koontz, even though it is not exactly high literature, LOL. I like that all of his books I read so far have a happy ending. Does this one also have a happy ending?

I think it's mostly a happy ending. It's also a little ambiguous.

Same here! I have quite a lot of his books from my Koontz kick. I went off him when he seemed to be recycling plots from earlier ones.
