I found out earlier that there's going to be a new Harry Potter mobile game coming sometime next year. Warner Bros is partnering with Niantic Labs who made Pokemon Go to make a HP location-based augmented reality game.

I'll probably be trying it although it might be a while off being available yet. The release date is sometime next year so it's rather up in the air at the moment.

Oooh. I had no real interest in Pokemon Go and I'm not hugely into Harry Potter anymore but I will be keen to see what this is like!

I hope it's better than the Fantastic Beasts game, that was rather disappointing.

There's been a few mentions of it around, I saw it on Pottermore.

That could be pretty good, more complex to program then Pokemon so be interesting ot see how it works out! :)

Considering the problems there were with Pokemon Go and the numerous complaints about it, that aspect does not bode well. Also the Harry Potter fandom is incredibly vociferous about things that do not go as they expect, aren't as in the books or just generally wrong. It could be good or it could go down in a huge pile of flames. Both literal flames and the internet kind...

I think they'd have to make a very simplified version of things for sure, not sure where they'd start really.

It depends on what the gameplay is actually going to be like, I think. There's no real information about that yet so we'll just have to wait and see.

No, as far as I can tell the main similarity will be that it's an augmented reality one, so you have to go out and about to find things and play it. I don't think you'll be trying to catch wizards and put them in balls, that's a bit weird...
