My laptop seems to be getting closer to being put out to grass. It's been problematic for a while: it's slow, gives error messages, freezes regularly and constantly has issues with Firefox not responding. Ugh ... Hope you find a cheap-ish laptop ...
I think I'll have to get a new computer sooner rather than later as well - it's getting terrribly slow.

They're so frustrating, aren't they? I didn't think yours was that old, didn't you just upgrade the OS on it? Mine was manageable until I realised there was a strong smell of warm dust coming from one of the vents at the back and that was rather the last straw really. I don't like having to buy in haste either, I'd rather study all possibilities at length before deciding! It looks like my best option is another Dell but it's still going to cost me about £400 for a halfway decent one :-/

It's an antique! Is it steam-powered? I think mine's about 8 years old at least. It's practically an ancient relic.

they're a tad expensive and heavy as hell but sooooooo good when you're a gamer

Oh yes, I know of Alienware, they're specialist gaming systems and very good. Ridiculously expensive though, even their most basic one is over £1200 which is waaaaaaay out of my price range.

It's been on its way out for a while because it's so old. I just hoped it would last till I had a job and could afford to replace it :(
