They do rather. Purple can look like black if it's dark enough anyway!

Hehe, trust you to notice that! It's actually the wrong shade of blue, it's a lot lighter, and it's metallic paint as well. Although that aspect doesn't show up well in photos.

Maybe I should have had them lit at Hallowe'en, they would have been more fitting then, I think!
