I was in a creative mood a couple of days ago and I'd seen a tutorial for a 'Vibrant Peacock' which really tempted me so I thought I'd have a go. It was really detailed and took me a good three days to do (although part of that was because the person didn't specify to use RGB instead of CMYK so some of the blending effects weren't working properly ( Read more... )

The background in the tutorial was more blue and purple but when I was tweaking the colours, I took it too far and ended up with the orange instead. I really like orange and purple together anyway, but when I saw that it gave the 3D-ish effect, I kept it.

There was a lot of work in it, there's so many layers in the body and a lot of shading detail in the head too. However, most of the tail is made up of one piece copied multiple times so that made it much easier!
