X-Men: Days of Future Past

Jul 01, 2014 20:11

I have been feeling quite a bit better these past few days, practically zero symptoms at all. Therefore, I decided to risk it and drove to the cinema to see X-Men: Days of Future Past because I was desperate to see it before it left. I missed seeing The Wolverine at the cinema last year because I was recovering from my hysto, so I really didn't ( Read more... )

I loved him. He just seemed to be having a whale of a time, both with his power and with the situation in general. Everyone else was all super-serious and grim, and he was all "I get to break into the Pentagon!! YAAAAY!!!"

Yeah! I liked how they persuaded him by saying "You get to break into the Pentagon!" Like he'd already done his high school, the police station, Alcatraz...

Judging by the stuff in his room, it was more like he'd been jumping into the future and breaking into places like Sony and getting lots of gadgets. But I suppose that pales into comparison with the opportunity to break into somewhere major!

I have 90% of my Quicksilver Halloween costume done :)

HEadphones like that were used for stereos back in the day, not just portable things like we think of now - I have pics of my mom in the early 70s sitting on her bed, listening to records through big ole headphones like that! So funny!

Ohh, I want to see that!

I don't mean the big bulky headphones, I meant the ones that clip onto your ears like these ones. I'm pretty sure they weren't around in the 70s. I think the headphones, his Walkman or whatever music player he was using, the Pong game and other stuff he had were all indicators of his ability to travel forward in time. Although having introduced that concept, and the fact that he can move bullets, why didn't they use him to stop Mystique killing Trask?

Ahh, I didn't really notice those! And that was a Walkman clipped to his belt? I was just assuming it was..hmm, something else unrelated! Good eye!

Pong came out by 1973, though, didn't it?

I presume it was because of the headphones although there wasn't really a clear shot of it.

Was it out by 1973? I thought it was late 70s. Hmm, Wikipedia says it was released in 1972 in arcades and 1975 for home use. Oh well.

You'll have to be quick then! I don't think it'll be available for much longer, maybe another week or so.
