Riding the snot train

After much deliberation, it was decided that we would go Down South for my Nannie's funeral. We're all travelling down tomorrow, by train, which has cost over £100 each for a return ticket and takes 5 hours, going via London where we have to change trains. My mother has only been to London once as part of a family weekend many years ago and has ( Read more... )

Oh god, so much fun. You poor, poor boy. I hope the trip isn't too bad and the funeral is a good experience for you and you get lots of closure from it. I'm glad you found the B&B cos that sounds quite a bit nicer than the Travelodge! But to be sick on top of everything is just horrible. I wish I could teleport you there and back so you don't have to deal with that fun-filled trip, with a cold no less. *offers hugs and blankets and tea* At least you won't have to rush to get the train back though; that's something.

I had a horrific cold last week, but luckily it all progressed fairly quickly - still coughing and blowing my nose though. Hope you're better soon. Would not want to be ill on a train though, they make me ill anyway...

The B&B does sound better than travelodge, cause those places...premier inn attempted to make me pay £8.25 each for brekkie (£16.50!?). Sod that, I'm going to the Costa next door. Although one bathroom and a 9am start is going to be a nice juggle for you all.

My cold seems to have progressed fairly quickly too. By Wednesday morning, the nose blowing had eased off and the cough had started but thankfully that didn't get too severe. I'm still coughing and blowing my nose but certainly feeling much better than I was.

We actually passed the Travelodge on our way to the crem and I'm really glad we didn't stay there. There really was nothing else around it, other than its own petrol station and the Burger King. The B&B was so much nicer.

Excellent, there seem to be a lot of colds. With this stupid odd rainy summer spring.

Yeah, they do tend to be all lonely and depressing.
