My Welcome email for Early Access to Pottermore arrived yesterday. It came at 12.10pm but I was busy out in the garden till nearly 4pm so I didn't get it till then. I signed in eagerly but within a few minutes, the site went down. I'd only been able to look at my profile and account settings! I tried refreshing the page but just got an error

It really is ridiculous how much Pottermore's been down. If they don't make some very big changes over the next month, it's going to explode in a fiery ball of death when the masses attempt to join. I must admit I'm not filled with optimism about it at the moment

It's been a bit better these past few days although it was down again for maintenance yesterday when I was wanting to do some dueling.

I think Snowy owls are always going to be out of stock, primarily as a 'hey look, Hagrid has just been in and bought Harry's owl' thing but also because so many people would want one if they could.

I had 444 Galleons I think after shopping at Diagon Alley which wasn't too bad. I think most of it would be spent buying stuff for potions really. At least we get a few back but it would be nicer if it was in greater quantities.

You have a big wand, it's 12¾! Compensating for something, are we? I am very amused that your wand is Unbending, I think that's quite appropriate for you. It's annoying that there's more about who shouldn't have beech wands but I guess maybe there's such a small amount of requirements for it that they had to pad it out with extraneous information.

True, I hadn't thought about having to go back for more potions ingredients during the year. I hope we have enough for brooms next year though!

I didn't choose the length! I don't know why it gave me such a big one. I'd rather it be more like your size. The Unbending bit amused me too. And are you saying beech wands are bog-standard and uninteresting and can just be handed out to whoever wanders in, mister?! Pbbbbbbt to you. You must have missed the whole part about how a lot of people aren't good matches for a beech wand and you have to be a special snowflake have a certain je nes sais quois to make it work well. I just wish it had explained more what that quality is, rather than go on about the loads of people who don't have it. :P

I've not bought any potion ingredients at all so far, I've been finding them instead. Though I could really do with some shark fangs. I believe we get more money at the start of CoS which makes sense as Harry got more money at the beginning of each school year to get the new books and equipment.

No, you completely misunderstood what I said about beech wands. I said that beech wands have a short list of precise requirements, therefore there are few people who will fulfill all those and most people will not suit a beech wand. Typical Gryffindor, rushes in without reading properly and gets it all wrong :P
