Insurance claim update

Feb 08, 2011 19:26

It's been three weeks now since my car was beaten up by a Megane in a car park and nothing has happened. I rang Helphire who are supposed to be dealing with things rather than my insurance company for some reason that I don't understand. I asked for an update and was told that they were still waiting for an admission of liability from the other ( Read more... )

Oyy, how frustrating. It does seem odd that they're trying to contact her directly rather than her insurance company. But the complacency of Helphire is so obnoxious and frustrating, as is the fact that no one will tell you anything without you having to chase them down and hold them upside down and shake them until information falls out of their pockets. Grrrr to the lot of them. It'll be such a relief when this stuff is sorted and not causing you any more headache! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's soon.

Car insurance can be a right pain in the ass to deal with. Keep at 'em, and good luck!

It's so stupid that you have to keep tracking everything down. What do these companies DO all day? Shouldn't they be doing all this stuff without you prodding them? Blargh. I'm sorry it's been so difficult to get everything straightened out - it seems like you're running into this a lot, with the school you want to take classes from, your step-father's bank stuff, the travel insurance, car insurance... it's so ridiculous!

It's stupid and annoying that they're making you do their work.
Hopefully things are moving forward - and I know how much a pain in the butt that car insurance can be - the whole annoying accident I had four years ago still makes me want to curl up and cry. Who the hell parks in a no parking zone and turns off all the lights on their car?

Sorry to hear about your car, Insurance companies can be a nightmare to deal with - I don't envy you that!

Some insurance companies are better than others too. The only other experience I've had of making a claim on my car insurance was when my car was vandalised. That was with a different company (RAC insurance) but it was sorted out with no problems whatsoever. This one is with esure - or rather Helphire who esure passed it all on to for some reason.
