My goodness, what a busy weekend! Mine's been most uneventful. I went back to karate for the first time since surgery and was so happy to be back, and felt fine afterwards, so yay for that. And today I made a replica Trust me, i'm a Doctor T-shirt for the kids' mum's Christmas gift. I'm v pleased with it and it was the last gift I had to do, so once I touch it up a bit, I'm all done ( ... )

Could you pack it into snowballs and throw them, or would it just disintegrate if you tried? Wet snow makes snowmen and snowballs and stuffs and is much heavier to shovel.

Yeah, it probably would get ickier and grosser. I'm glad vegetable shortening exists there, even if it's harder to get hold of. Hopefully you can get some Cookeen or Trex if you want to make the white icing or other Crisco-requiring stuffs (like pumpkin bread!) in the future.

Oh! :-[ I misread and thought there were sprinkles in the Morrisons frosting too. Well then you should write to Pillsbury! You could get a lifetime supply of Funfetti. That's even better.

hehe This is very true. And it does make more sense that the other people queueing would be the ones tutting. Maybe you'd better split it between two days like you said then. I probably wouldn't go in with eight parcels for the same reasons.

When I was shovelling the snow, I would have been able to make snowballs with it as it was packing together. However, when I brushed it off the top of the car this morning, it was completely powdery, even though it was from the same day's snowfall. Work that one out.

Brrr, I say, brrr! We mainly left the snow where it was though dad did head out with a shovel to clear a path to the bins and back, the entire street is just pure white with people tramping reasonably happily through it. Next door neighbours (our fave neighbours) were lovely tho, Graham came round to ask if it was ok if he chucked all the snow off his car as he dug around it onto our lawn, and btw were we ok for shopping when they went out. Bless!

I think I'm going to stop grumbling about it being minus 8 here, minus 16?? Have you spotted penguins waddling past the window? That's bloody cold, best sort of time to be indoors cooking, even if they cheated you of the fancy sprinkles. The game sounds intriguing, when in doubt, chuck an axe at it? :)

Our street is completely white too. We get very little traffic down the road - either motorised or pedestrian - to clear it. It doesn't get a great deal of sun either to melt away the ice and snow. I couldn't believe the temperature, I had to check it against another weather site which said the same thing. It said -16 for Liddypool too though, did you not get the memo?

I bet you'd love the game, it's very entertaining and doesn't require much brains ;)

Us too, we're a dead end so theres not much through traffic (other than people getting lost and turning back to try and find the street they really planned to drive down..), postman and chemist made it here just fine today though which is all to the good and hopefully mum's carer will turn up tomorrw as planned, though I ain't planning on going out anywhere with her for once! I didn't get that memo no, we're mainly going off the external thermometers we've got dotted about, presumably the really silly temperatures where Not In Our Backyard :)

Brainless, just my sort of thing! :>

I need a weekend to recover from my weekend! Barn cleaning, some house cleaning, laundry, mad dash to the farmer's market to buy a Yule tree...and I'm still not done!

Oh dear! That does sound rather hectic. So much for relaxing at the weekend.

I came and took a nice 2hr long nap. I probably would have slept longer but the cat decided I needed to get up and feed her ;)
