Lancashire Day

Today is Lancashire Day. On this day in 1295 the first elected representatives from Lancashire were called to Westminster by King Edward I to attend what later became known as 'The Model Parliament'. The Lancashire Day proclamation is read out by town criers throughout the County and also in many places where Lancastrians are living in exile. ( Read more... )

Your location reminds me of how my cousins live in (Lancastrian-except-not-really) East Liverpool, OH. I can't quite figure out the geography on that one, either. :)
