World Tour update: Week #1

Nov 01, 2007 16:06

Michael is out at work all day as he usually is on Thursdays so I am taking advantage of this to update about the past week; not only because I can do what I like while he's not here but also so I can use his computer (for more of this see the section on James Mason below).
TIC )

travels and the fun thereof, harry potter, nathaniel's world tour, michael, don't conferences sound impressive?, friends, mother, how about that local sports team?

OK, I'm going to sound like I haven't been reading you properly, but I don't remember you talking about Germany. I'm glad you're so happy over there, shame about not seeing the fall in New England!

I don't think at all that it's because you've not been reading me properly so don't worry about that. It's probably something that I've mentioned in passing, like here, so it's easy to miss. Anyway, I lived in Germany from the age of 2 till I was 12 because my dad was in the army and we got posted out there. I'm very multi-cultural :)

I was surprised to see the lack of pretty colours in Vermont but at least there's been some around here and in New Hampshire. I'm sure there'll be other years that I'll see it anyway.

I hope you do get to see it. I hope to myself one day,

Did you go to British schools or did you go to German schools ? I know, I'm asking a lot of questions, but people who get to live abroad, well they're pretty lucky in some ways. Like you say, you're multi cultural.

I hope we both do!

I went to British schools, or more accurately, schools that were modelled on British ones so they were similar in some ways but not in others! We got taught about various aspects of German culture in school and celebrated some of their festivals and got to experience other bits of it just through shopping and sightseeing and living around it. I count myself very lucky to have been able to grow up somewhere different, because it does give you an added dimension and experiences that most people don't get.

I don't mind people asking questions, I mean, that's how you learn stuff! Besides, if we were meeting in real life, you'd ask me questions too, wouldn't you?

Darn, I'm neutral on Red SOx, does that mean I'm not FTM? *does pretend gender wibble*

I'm glad you're having fun!!! I dressed up as Harry Potter too, but Michael looks much more like him than I do! Will there be photos?
Heehee, Michael has a teacher voice, thats deadly :) I can just hear him too!

You're not allowed to be neutral on the Red Sox, it's against the law. *nods*

Michael looked awesome as Harry Potter, especially when he put his glasses on. There will indeed be photos! I'm going to see if I can get them off my camera here, but I don't have the software for it so hopefully I'll be able to do it. I want to show off my pumpkin because it was amazing!

Michael is deadly with or without the Teacher Voice. You know it.

Oh OKay. Uh....GO RED SOX.....that make it better?

I'd imagine he would. He looks very, very like Harry Potter in some of his photos anyway.

Yes, he is indeed deadly

So I've been trying to find a postcard of my city to send you, and can you believe, I can't freakin' find any??!!! Actually, I did find some, but they were generic ones with Toowoomba printed on them, not actualy photos of my city - well really, what's the point of that?

But my search continues, hopefully being successful in time to send to you while you're still in the US!

That is most bizarre! I've not been anywhere in Boston to get postcards yet, I'm not so sure they sell them in the corner shop anymore so it might mean going into the city to get them. I have some other bits and pieces to send you though, I'm just waiting for the postcard.

I'll be here till the end of November so you have plenty of time yet!

glad youre having fun!

i think if you want a quality product, no matter what it is, argos is probably the first place NOT to go. having worked there, the amount of shit that just broke really quickly was incredible. i think it's alright if you're buying something there that you might buy in like, woolworths or somewhere anwyay, like toys or brandnamed things, but stuff like their jewellery and the way they handle the watch repairs and that, it's all just worth avoiding.

how're the ears these days by the way?

My main reasoning for getting the watch from Argos in the first place was that I needed a new one that was more male than the one I had at the time and so I didn't want to spend a fortune on it. I know Argos is pretty crap but I've never really had any problems with things I've bought from there before so I didn't expect I would this time. I mean, it's still a Sekonda watch no matter where I bought it!

The ear is still not great. Unfortunately with coming over here, my schedule went all to pot so it's been hard to take the tablets regularly as I had been doing. When I was at TIC, I didn't have any at all that whole weekend because my mind was elsewhere. I'm really trying to make an effort to remember to take them now so hopefully it'll get better soon.

Just saying "Hi" and I'm glad you're having a fun time. :) But I miss my big brother! Never mind, the time will fly by for me with the amount of time I will be working. (We begin decorating the shop for Christmas next week, with three christmas trees and lit garlands around the walls... I won't bore you with it here) Catch ya later.

Well, they say time flies when you're having fun so I'm sure it will fly by for both of us; I'm having lots of fun here and you will no doubt have endless amounts of fun with doing the Christmas decorating. Fun fun fun fun fun!

But they are very restrictive about what decorations! :( No tinsel, or baubles. Just natural holly with berries and the trees and garlands they supply, wrapped with white lights. Oh, and three window bases filled with fake snow.

OOh! but I do love christmas! :)

At least if they're being restrictive like that, it won't be all tacky and naff like most shops!

You love Christmas? Really? I had no idea :P
