Sad news this morning. It was just announced that Bernard Cribbins has died. He was 93. A definite national treasure and a huge loss ( Read more... )

I knew it was coming eventually, because of his age... but still, a sad loss.

A bonafide legend from my home town, too... Rarity! :-)

It seemed like he would go on forever, he never seemed to be old enough to be in his 90s. Because of his age and starting acting when he was quite young, he just seems to have always been there.

There's lots of people from Oldham! Brian Cox, Nick Grimshaw, Philip Schofield, and Biggins! I was surprised when I found out that Bernard Cribbins was from this area though, he never sounded like it :(

I knew about Cox, Schofield and Biggins - but never realised Grimshaw was one of us, too. :-)

They're everywhere! I wasn't aware of Schofield actually, he's another one who's had his accent Southernised.

I haven't cried over a famous person's death in a while but this one definitely got me. I was teary all day yesterday.
