Today I spent most of my time over in the new apartment. I taped off everything but the ceiling in the living room so that we will just have to cover the floor and mark/tape off around the ceiling before we start painting it

And thanks for the link! I had thought that I had been on every site having to do with Hindu groups and such around here, but there are a few on this wiki page that I haven't seen before. I really had no idea that there were any kind of ashrams here. I haven't looked at them all yet, but everything seems to be quite out of my price range. And you know what they say, a true guru would never ask for a thing...

In London I belonged to the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre as they too follow monistic , non-dual Vedanta and run many excellent social programmes in India. I can't stsnd the Hare Krishnas . They discourage helping the poor on the grounds that it would interfere with their karma .
