You can listen to OUR radio station online http://www.wluw.org even when WE aren't spinning tunes! Check out their site and schedule. We're known for our diversity and our eclectic catalog and for our specialty shows.

Also: We listen a great deal to Dutch Radio online. There are zillions of shows (many are high-quality live performances!) They conduct interviews in English (when the guests are non-Dutch speaking) and any title or band name in English, stays in English. (they do not translate from the original language.) And boy are they eclectic and quite awesome! http://3voor12.vpro.nl/3voor12/"You shouldn't have any problem understanding the DJs.

p.s. BBC radio isn't too bad but it can get really commercial sometimes.

Thanks for the links, Chikkie! :D I will be sure to check it out!

It took me a coupla years to find a radio station that I liked ~that~ much. I just hate when a good station has to go and mess things up that way! GRRRR! My tastes are pretty far reaching, and they had such a nice balance with DJs who knew their stuff. A rare find...Sad Sighhh.

Yeh I know. That's why we got involved with these two. Our community radio station doesn't have to kowtow to the advertisers cos there ARE NONE! The dutch are radically different as well... at least THEY have an independent scene even in the commercial realm! They have their Top 40 crap as well... at least they separate it though. VPRO is all independent.... not top 40 at all. It's a weird set up and when we lived there we had a lot to learn about it.

As I understand it, this was an independently owned station until recently. It was bought out by a local popular night club. Grrrrr...
They still advertise having Dj's "choosing their own music" (read: their choice of commercial crap we have to play).

ps: That music library pic you posted is beautiful! :)
