Niiiiice! That's an impressive showing. Congrats!

Personally, my favorite of those is SoE, but "Green Magic" really tickled me. Between your prose and having trod about in those forests made the story very easy to visualize...and thus creepy! I certainly liked "Clothes Make the Man" (I audibly snorted at the Noldorin obsession with presentation comment) but I liked it within the context of "Many Guises and Many Names" (ahem, the superior collection of work). I'm guessing that attention spans are on the short side for the MEFA competitions so that's why drabbles and ficlets are favored?

Yes, the shorter things always do better. I can hardly complain since I'm just as guilty. Otherwise, I would have reviewed Claudio's two neglected tales.

"The Odd Couple" totally bombed, though. Came in last in its category.

Didn't a couple of the selections from "The Odd Couple" do well last year? Again, like "Many Guises..." I liked the whole series. The honey scene is truly hootworthy.

I loved "The Odd Couple" although I secretly thought that you originally started it to irk me (de-romanticizing the perfect elf by pairing him with a hairy dwarf). There are so many memorable lines in it--the Honey one is hilarious (G-rated for adults only is my description). Even though I have never been big on food and sex. I like to keep them separate in my personal life. And then Gimli carrying someone else's golden hair, not Galadriel's, perfect.

Sword can run again when it's finished. If I live so long, I will do my last year's novel when it is finished also.

That Claudio's masterpieces got so little attention sticks in my craw (is that how you spell that word?). But I've told you that already ad nauseum. That people did not recognize that as great work takes the luster off my wins for me ( ... )

First things first: *squees*! That's a really impressive showing of awards, and I was rooting for you when I saw how many you'd won before I sent out your email ( ... )

Yes, there is some weighting so a really well-written but obscure story can do well.... but there is this weakness that stories about Boromir and Merry will often do better than stories about Isildur and Celegorm.

Being a Celegorm writer, knowing this I did calculate a non-win in advance (I knew for example that Requiem would be too controversial and I did discuss that up front with the nominator, still I decided to let it run with the pom pom shaking of said nominator LOL), so as I mentioned elsewhere, I already feel very happy with the reviews that I did get (feeling like a happy Smaug on her horde of reviews). That's also something to keep in mind for the not so competitive (I suppose) participants. :c)

Oh and secondly, All cudo's to the real mefa staff, instead of this promotor and occasional banner maker. Go you guys!

I'd wish I would have come around to read more Dwim stories, I love her writing. Just as Raksha or Imhiriel for example, or Maeve or... [insert more authors that I love] :) I have no idea how Dwim did, but I am happy to know she won a first place! And you... congrats with your wins! I already told Doc B a week ago that I am shamefully behind on reading Sword of Elendil, and I also tried hard to keep up with Fiondil's Elf interrupted, but for both I felt I needed to read more to properly review it. Fiondil completed his before the end of the awards and I already apologised to him.

I just volunteered for a few things btw, but am not a MEFA staff member, all kudo's for running it should truly go to them!
