Professor Gandalf,

Due to some unforseen circumstances, I must return home for a few days. I will be gone Monday, Tuesday and Wendesday, and therefore will miss the first session of your comparative religions class. If there is anything you need me to do, I will make it up as soon as I return. I will be back to run class on Friday. If you would like an offical excuse, I will have my guardian, who I am visiting, send you a letter. It should suffice.
