The good news is: eustacio and I have seen Star Trek and declared it good. Of course, coming from someone who's never seen any Star Trek that may not say a lot, but I as a longtime Trekkie can assure you that you will not be disappointed. I went in with no expectations and walked away very pleased. In my opinion, the movie struck an excellent balance ( Read more... )

Oh, good, I'm not a Trekkie, but my father and paternal grandmother are.

And busted eardrums are BAD, let me tell you.

If it makes you feel any better, I just got back from the ER myself - yup, couldn't put it off any longer - and I'm glad. Better to get answers and meds than let it go for...oh, say 24 hours. Which is what I did.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help, okay? Though, with things in the state they are, I don't think you can count on me for singing tomorrow. I'm sorry for that. But I'll send you very good vibes!

Also, as I forgot to mention (classic), please let me know how things go, okay? If you need a friend or even just company I'm glad to serve. I was reminded tonight how important having someone around when your body is mutinying is, how much it gives back of yourself. So don't hesitate if you need something. Seriously. And I'll pray for the best.

Woo, now I'm even more excited about watching it tonight! I was pretty sure I'd like it because it's Star Trek, but I didn't really think it'd be so good. And Zachary Quinto seems a weird Spock in the promotional pictures but if you say so, I guess I will like it for sure.

Hope your ear gets better. *hugs*

I wasn't expecting to like this Spock much because I can't stand Syler but I loved him so much in this role.

Agreed! Though I think the reason I don't like Sylar is mostly because of the writing rather than the character - he would be interesting if his personality weren't so inconsistently written (is he a good guy, a bad guy, crazy, sane? we don't know).

I saw it a few days ago and I am surprised you liked it. It messed with continuity in a bad way, the villain had no depth and the plot made no sense. From this review I was expecting much better.
