with this line I mark the past as a symbol of beginning

I am now the proud owner of every Hunter: The Reckoning book ever published (except for "The End," which hasn't come out yet and which actually counts as a general World of Darkness book anyway, I think). Glee! When my last two books came yesterday I put them on the shelf and just sat and stared at it for like 5 minutes. Never has such a huge ( Read more... )

I've been pondering getting all the Hunter books, but I just can't justifying buying stuff I'll never use like Hunter: Holy War and First Contact. So I guess I'll just be satisfied with what I do have (like all the creed books! Go that crazy 6.66 sale!) and use the money to buy stuff like Exalted or Unknown Armies or video games or...

Actually, I thought First Contact was actually a really useful book, for story ideas if nothing else (though I may never get to use them). Utopia, on the other hand...now THAT'S a worthless book. And Holy War is a big steaming pile of useless, which is why I was so glad to find it for $1.50 on Amazon.

It means. The meaning to me (and dreams are a very personal mythology type of thing), reading as if it were a story, is that someone can be capable and skilled and still have the right to make a choice. The daughter's response makes me think that it also means that one can't be responsible for how other people react to one's decisions, that one can only wait and find out.

You say you were left wondering if you had made the right decision - out of curiousity, was that a guilty feeling?

Hmm...that makes a lot of sense to me. And in the dream I didn't feel so much guilty as angry at myself for knowing I had a talent and then refusing to use it because I was too afraid of the consequences if I didn't take that chance. I wished that I had the courage to take the risk of trying to help her, but I think there was a lot of regret mixed in with that as well.

I'm jealous. I'm on a quest for all the Changeling books published. However, I am unlucky as it is out of print first of all, and second, well, everyone wants it. *lesigh*. I realyl need to read the Hunterbook, as I'm trying to make a scarily hybid NPC that's half changeling and half hunter. Yes, I know, it doesn't seem to fit, but if you knew this guy.....

Yikes, good luck with that. I've been playing Changeling and collecting its books for a good 4 years now, and there are STILL a few that I've yet to encounter anywhere. Next project for me: All the Mage books that are either a) cheap or b) useful (since getting all of them is pretty much a futile endeavour for someone with my budget).

You do realise I am insanely tempted to get that banner and deliberately mangle it to say:

Gay Pride Marriage is Love - This message is brought to you by the FCC.

OK, I've done that...and then found out this whole thing was about gay marriage. Silly me not to realise.

I've no problem with gay marriage but it means that my memefucking has produced a complete non-sequitur. If anything, that's even funnier!
