Woohoo! anonymous October 3 2005, 14:53:04 UTC
As an Atlanta college student and prospective developer, I just have to say: woohoo! As soon as I saw "Georgia wants a piece of video games..." I assumed it meant a law prohibiting sale of M-games to minors. Pleasant surprise!

I'll be going to the Art Institute of Atlanta for Game Design and news of Georgia becoming a top region for game development made me happy =)...I love Georgia and hope that it dips it's hand deep in the bowl...\m/ O_o \m/

It was only a matter of time before certain states looking to boost their economies were going to see what certain uptight states were throwing away. The more the anti-gamers stab us, the more others want to come to our aid in hopes of reaping the rewards.

Mark my words: Every state that scares developers away is going to regret it when they see what we can do for the states who don't judge us based on sensationalistic journalism.

Your words are marked, and, cryptic as it may sound for the uptight states, I have a feeling you're on the ball.

Georgia already gives more in federal taxes than it recieves so it's doing pretty well even without the industry's presence, this will just help to bolster it some more.

Yeah, 96-98, I believe.

They moved it back west cuz most of the companies were from Cali or Seattle or Japan and hated traveling to ATL for the show.

Heh, can't blame them, driving through Atlanta can suck. Not to mention Atlanta International Airport is one of the busiest in the world.

The video games bill is still sitting on Arnold's desk. No word on what he might decide.
