ARGH! This cartoon do be funny, it does me good to get a laugh from this blog instead of the normal frustration associated with the antics of Jack Thompson or Censocrats.

This is awesome. I stumbled across JJ's Filibuster cartoons on accident after he first started it and have been a big fan ever since. Nice to see him on another of my favorite sites.

They did for a day or two, his "favourite" movie (like the games, it was just one of a large list) was Natural Born Killers...

It annoys me how people need a scapegoat to point fingers at whenever a tragedy like this occurs. People don't seem to realize that things like this can just happen sometimes, and there's nothing that could've been done to prevent them.

Everything has a cause, there is nothing that just happens, therefore everything can be prevented. Of course realistically speaking preventing things from happening usually requires information not found out until after the fact so.....

I was speaking realistically. You cannot prevent every incident like this from happening, no matter what. Only in a thought experiment can all the variables be considered so as to be able to prevent every undesirable outcome, and this is because the world is far more complicated than would allow for this sort of treatment. I was simply saying that since there will always be tragedy in the world, people should really think about where they're pointing the finger, as opposed to letting knee-jerk reactionaries dictate where the blame should lie.

I agree. In particular in this case. I honestly think this could have been prevented. This man was obsessed with guns and death. I'm not saying he should have been locked up for that, but it seems to me those are strong enough warning signs that the people around him should have been keeping an eye on him.
Of course, his mother said that he was a "good man," leading me to wonder if he just kept this side of himself completely hidden from her, or if she was just in denial.
