Thought Police braindead1 August 27 2006, 15:03:01 UTC
Am I the only one who thinks any one who wants to be a politician HAS to read George Orwell's 1984? no wait...scratch that. Everyone should read George Orwell's 1984. If you want the society I want to be the least like, read that book.

From Las Vegas, the Review-Journal asks, "Can violent thoughts be a crime?"
=====

It's been a crime for years to seriously suggest "I want to kill the President."

I want off. They're trying to police our thoughts. I can't live here anymore.

The best thing about Thought Police is they would need a MASSIVE infrastructure to even start. I mean...a tellescreen in EVERY single house would be friggen hard, to start now. Also a lot of American's wouldn't stand for it. I know if someone tried to monitor me all the time I would flip them off and move to some non crazy country. The best thing we can do is stop the IDEA of Thought Police at its start by complaining, being out spoken and generally patriotic.

NOTE: My idea of patriotism is to criticize our country as harshly as possible.

Well, the thing is, most of the "Thought Police's" work to arrest dissidents would likely be done by anonomoys tipsters and private citizens ratting on their neighbors. Such was the case for the Getspatso in Nazi Germany. Also, many Americans' lack of political activism and deathly fear of terroism might blind them to Thought Police-like behavior. Even us Americans can't complain about something when we aren't aware that it exists.

If violant thought did anythign to socity/youth/masses we would already know by now,people have been palying video games for centries now but back then we used soemtign called a imagation something our politicians lack.

What need to do it rate games as realisticly as we can so the pruds dont have a hissy fit when thier kids come home to paly GTA,Sexy beach 2 or FFX....god forbid kids learn that mindlessly following religeon is bad thing....god forbid they ever think........lets err on the side of caution and create a world with mindless sheeple in it and a thin iron curtain of blind theorical dictatorship.....

Don't forget risk. That's got some wholesome value in it.
