Let's see if that idiot Bozell actually promotes this game beardoggx May 23 2006, 11:29:54 UTC
Bozell would probably enjoy it, as he launched an attack ad on Ted Kennedy during the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings that was so distasteful that the first President Bush had his chief of staff call Bozell and force him to pull the ad. Bozell refused.

From "Foley Is Good".

Why is this game ok and fun hearted? traiklin May 23 2006, 14:56:23 UTC
Yet that crossing the border game was considered distastefull and racist? Same with the columbine RPG game (that was made with RPG Maker)?

There are tons of games that are like that made every year yet no one bats an eye till it suddenly goes into the limelight because of something else.

Because it's funny(sort of) and true. It's talking about someone doing something bad, and I wouldn't call it fun-hearted but it is a well-done satire.

The Border Patrol game is distasteful and racist. Maybe it's a fine line, but "DLAK" doesn't promote the wanton slaughter of fairly innocent pregnant women and children for no real purpose. Not to mention the webpage for Border Patrol is blatantly racist, using IIRC several racial epitaths.

The Colombine Game isn't particularly distasteful, but the name could have been..hmm, better thought out? Bad title, but the game itself wasn't distasteful, again IMO.

Ya know, these political attack ads disguised as games... Are they REALLY Game Politics news? I mean, all you're doing is giving hateful attack ads more attention than they deserve.

I see them as political satire, and therefore suitable for coverage here.

We've looked at a number of such games, such as Border Patrol, Whack-a-Pol, and several parodies based on Jack Thompson.
