I think they should just post that shit where ever video games are sold. Too bad the MPAA would fucking sue.

"Parents are misled by the video-game ratings," he told reporters.
So T = Teen and M = Mature is misleading? right......

I do think a fully numbered system is better, but still.

yeah but then someone would complain that if it's 16+ it has to be exactly the content THEIR 16 yr old can handle, else it's misleading.

with M and T it makes it more of a parental judgement call.

Which scares way to many people "OH NO I have to make a decision! I better find something to blame if I make a mistake... ohh muffins! Yes this will do nicely"

I say we get that picture comparing the 2 rating systems up again and send them to him. Include the backside of GTA this time for a more accurate comparison.

heh the bottom back side of a movie is the ONLY place you'll find an MPAA rating.

The bill has been stuck for a year? Isn't there a system in place that outright kills a bill for being stuck too long?

Yeah but it can be re-introduced the next year with little changes. Diane Feinstein did it with what would be known as the Mohave Natl Monument act for something like 7 years before it passed.

7 years?!?!? Good God!

Well, most of those years were Bush Sr. years, with a republican majority in the senate. You try convincing a republican to close 20 million acres, stop mining and farming in that area, and hinder law enforcement on that land as well. Now do it on the premise that Desert Tortoises are being harmed by people's actions when different research groups come back with different population numbers and different findings as to the cause. (And these are studies funded by environmentalist groups....)

Anyways she finally got it through when clinton was in office and the dems controlled the senate.

How do you improve "the best ratings system in the entire entertainment industry"?(according to the hypocrite Lieberman)

The ESRB has done way more than what has been expected of them because of the rampant McCarthyist spacegoating by retards like Baca, Jack Thompson, Hillary Clinton, etc.

The ratings are clear enough, and anyone who says otherwise is nitpicking, like the Harvard idiots, especially considering that the ESRB system is almost identical to the MPAA, and if these groups of brain-damaged parents would realize that the ESRB's M = MPAA's R, T = PG-13, E-10 = PG, E = G, there wouldn't be any "confusion".

....is nitpicking, like the Harvard idiots,

I agree fully with this statement, and would like to subscribe to your newletter, or pamphlet, if it is exists. Thank you.

Please refrain from calling them "Harvard idiots". On of the researchers was polite enough to come into this forum and politely debate the Harvard study. I have also had discussions with Mr. Harninger through email, he is not an idiot, nor should we stoop to Jack Thompson levels in a debate by insulting someone who disagrees with us.

And yes by using the phrase "Harvard idiots" you are going to a Jack Thompson level of maturity.

So his calling someone an idiot is directly akin to:

1)Only posting inflammatory comments, including open-ended insults, and not responding to reasonable counter points,
2)Never adding anything of any substance to the discussion,
3)Exploiting human tradgedies for personal gain, and doing so here on the GP boards in hopes of a retaliation - i.e. a martyr complex,
4)Using arguements full of opinion and logical fallacies, and presenting them as facts,
5)Hypocritically portraying himself differently in different forums, showing a lack of respect for the very place he posts,
6)Being banned 47+ times for such actions.

So, yeah Beardoggx is soooo going to a Jack Thompson level there. Come on. I'm glad you are defending a person you believe to be worthy, but Beardoggx (and myself) are entitled to an opinion, and his past actions are nothing like Jack Thompson. Talk about making the Himalayas out of molehills there ( ... )
