If fighting Satan is religious, DMC can top this instantly.

And btw, that cross-gun thing would look awesome on Dante.

Reminds me of the cross-gun/rocket launcher from the Trigun anime series ^_^

Huzzah for the Punisher Cross! Wolfwood is indeed the shiznits. Gotta love a gun-toting priest, who smokes.

And let's not forget Chapel... even if he did only last for a few episodes. Massive under-the-arm style machine guns rock.

I'm gunna put my money that this game will be slammed hard, but mostly because it'll probably be a horrible game that doesn't deserve to be played, purchased, or even mentioned. It'll be a big hooplah over nothing and we'll get back to important things... like how Jack says this game isn't a murder simulator. ^_^

But anyways, if they wanted to make it a good game, they should just repackage Doom 3 instead. ;) That had plenty of demons and stuff for folks to shoot.

Christians like JT will say the religious context justifies the violence. But other Christians, whom I consider to have a better grasp of their chosen denomination, won't care that people are killing for God, because murder is murder. And the Christians who aren't opposed to fantasy violence? They'll judge the game based on it's actual quality.

As for the non-religious game critics, I can't really think of any right now.

The game will probably suck, hard core Christian's who love the Left Behind Books will probably buy it because someone tells them to, it'll make big bucks and we'll see even suckier sequels.

I don't really foresee much protest over this, and like someone above said, if it's timed right the Da Vin ci Code movie will take the heat off. Nothing gets a religion stirred up like saying they've been lied to for 2 millennium, even if it's just a fictional story.

Making Church fun again! (was it ever?) grimm24 March 6 2006, 15:54:31 UTC
Seems like a good idea to me. Although I would have preffered to see a FPS. Just kidding
