Also not a big fan of Team Challenges. They tend to end up with just a smattering of people doing all the work and ending up getting short changed because instead of getting full points for the whole project that just a few of them did, they only get their alotted points. and no more for the extra work they did.
Erin and I have been trying to find a way around this for a while. Because people always want team challenges, but no one actually participates and those that do, do all the work and still don't get the points they should get for it. I think the last time we did a team challenge for TVU, we made the points for the project/work itself and not for the person doing it.
Yes, that is unfortunately true about team challenges. I've also been putting some thought into how to make it more fair. Hopefully we can come up with something that works! :)
Best way to do it, I think is to make the points count for the elements that go into the challenge, and not for the people doing it. i.e Do a sort of unlimited point structure within the framework of what you are doing.
For example, for a team TV Show, have each element that make up the show worth X amount of points per one done. for example, x amount of points per character made, rather than saying, so and so teammmate can only create 2 characters and they end up creating 4 because other teammates aren't pulling their own weight. They should gets the points for all 4 rather than being stuck at the points for only 2.
Hey. Sorry, if this is the wrong place for this, but I dont know where else to put it, but I never received invites to the communities. Sorry, I didnt let you know about this until now, but I didnt notice it until now.
