I love the placement or timing of this scene, compared with or adjoined with canon. If Peter walked in on that scene, I think Sylar would have done some opening up. That's such a freaking cool cool twist on canon (even though, you know, no Wall verse
( ... )
The idea that Matt could pull one over on Sylar, mentally, has always struck me as being pretty thin. In canon, the only reason I thought it worked was because Sylar wanted it to.
Peter and Sylar make a great team on a lot of levels! Once they, yeah, get past their issues with each other.
I think Peter went around most of season 4 with his teeth gritted. The only thing that loosened him up was some of the stuff with Emma, and that's only a 'somewhat loosened up'. He still wasn't anywhere near the carefree and optimistic we see him having in S1.
I think that's part of where the 'demanding, not asking' comes from. Plus, it's not like Sylar's been all that polite by clearing things with Peter before doing them - including some profoundly personal things at this point.
The 'card catalogue' comment owes something to Mac & Lana for their comment about Peter scrolling through Sylar's abilities like an iPod menu. But Sylar's outraged reasons are new.
