Oh, I like the post-beta changes. And you know how much I adore this fic. You have really found a powerful moment to reveal to us, a missing scene that I never would have thought of, but makes so much sense, it must be canon ( ... )

Thank you so much! I'm glad you didn't mind the change at the end. You were right that my original motivation for him to change his mind wasn't the right one, but I wanted to get away from hate as a reason for Peter to go on living, because that isn't where I wanted him to be.

Ever since I saw that scene in "Let it Bleed" where Peter's standing on the road and Noah shows up with the body in the trunk, I've wondered about that scene and what sort of good-bye Peter was able to make. Did he cry over the corpse? Was he numb? Did he argue and rant at Noah? It had to be a delicate time for him. I liked writing this because it gave me closure to finally get that scene onto paper.

Oh! Thank you for pointing out that some people are suicidal-idea-triggery. That was DD3's suggestion to put that in there.

The fic started with this fantastic, gripping idea as I was driving home from work. I had it all laid out in my head ... then I got home, ate dinner, had to help the kids with something, got them dessert, got them to bed ... by the time I got my computer open to write the story, all I could definitely remember was a few lines and the theme. So it was all a reconstruction and not one I was all that happy with until the end.

Interesting Noah guilts Peter with "I will carry this around forever." Maybe its just me, but that implies that Noah cares for Pete and for Noah himself more than I...think he usually does. Huh.In SS-verse, which this is, Noah takes on a fatherly role for Peter after Sythan is taken down. Noah feels responsible for the emotionally wrenching hell that is Peter's life at that point and Peter adamantly refuses to do anything more than be civil to his mother. I take the comments and offered help ( ... )

Oh, and AAD is Automatic Activation Device. It measures your airspeed and altitude, and when you're going downward fast, at a certain point it cuts the strap to deploy your parachute whether you want it to or not.

This story was AMAZING. I love the concept of it, to see Peter and Noah behind the plane crash that Nathan supposedly "died" in. I loved seeing how conflicted Peter was until the very end, so IC for him and I could totally see him that close to dying with Nathan.
Fabulous job.

Thank you!

What must have happened between Peter seeing the body in Noah's trunk and the plane crash has fascinated me since I saw it in the show. I was glad to finally write something out that addressed it.

No, rant all you want! It's apparently my night to feel all ranty, which is weird considering I had such a great day. Maybe it's that I had a great day and don't feel the need to hold it in ( ... )
