Woohoo!! Whoopee! I am so happy with this ending. And lol to Sylar being super serious when he says the words. I wish I could say more but my brain is offline from work. Just know that I love this series and I am so happy things finally worked out for these two.
I admit to being a little curious as to why the heck Matt was invited after what he did, but I'm guessing it has to do with the pleasant results of his actions out weighing the craziness of them.
Love the idea of them living at Deveaux's and Sylar wanting to live somewhere special. That's perfect.
I think Sylar would be rather dead-set on making sure everyone with the power to seriously fuck him up, and the possible/probable motivation to do so, was on-board with his new life. It's a 'here I am, come and get me if you want me' move. He can't have a life with Peter, doing anything, if Matt and Noah are going to jump him next week.
He's kind of worried about Angela, but Peter's talked to her and says ... well, Peter's made it clear she'll lose her last son if she pulls anything. Anything at all.
"And I'll probably still chase you around after that, and be a huge pain in the ass. Just so you know."
Stubborn Peter is stubborn. I loved that line. It just drove home how gone on Sylar he is here. He isn't letting him go now that he has him.
The amusing and yet disturbing consensus seemed to be that even if he was, they weren't going to do anything about it - Peter seemed happy and Sylar wasn't killing anyone - so that was that.
I laughed when i read that line. I'm not surprised in the least that Matt and Noah would be cool with Peter being brainwashed by Sylar as long as no one was actually dying or seemed to be visibly maimed. I can't decide if I should be relieved that Peter won't have to deal with trouble on that front of horrified on his behalf.
Great fic. Sad to see it end but the ending definitely lived up to the rest of the story.
And I'm glad you got my meaning with the "they weren't going to do anything about it" bit. I think the right reaction is to be horrified on Peter's behalf, and want to slap Claire, Matt, and Noah around for being inhumane, insensitive dimwits. Of course, that's how they were in canon, though. :D Except for Claire, who was just oblivious at times, but not actually insensitive.
Oh wow, thank you! That is so sweet and awesome! It's rare these days that I get many comments, so to have so many nice things said all at once is wonderful
