My thanks and appreciation to asmodesgold for sharing this video with me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp89bQnYxko . Especially the lines asking, "It can't be love if you throw it about". And "Love bites, love bleeds, it's bringing me to my knees ... it's what I need." I used that for where Sylar's mind is at during this ( ... )

Canon is contradictory. In season 1, Sylar goes to Virginia's apartment and works on fixing her clock. She tells him that his father would have loved to see him do that and it is discussed that Gabriel learned to be a watchmaker from his father. Later this is discussed with Chandra, that he grew up working in his father's watch shop and that Sylar considers his life to be futile and depressing, predestined to be a nobody ( ... )

I think Meredith is right, although I don't know how "soon" is, so your ideas can still work, obviously.

And awww, I've said it before, but I love the way you write Peter. He's my favorite character from the show and the way you write him reminds me of why. He really is one of the more beautiful people on the show, and not just because of his looks, either. I've said it before, but if anyone can love, forgive, and guide Sylar it's him, and I think the writers sort of hinted at that.

Meredithleon is right and I'm so glad I have such observant readers! I don't like how canon handled that, so I've made up my own version.

In canon, either ZQ is portraying a character much older than himself, or they're saying that a 4-8 year old managed to learn a significant amount of the watchmaking trade before his father walked out. I don't like those options, so I say that "26 years" should have been "16 years" and that Martin left when Gabriel was 13 or 14.

Thank you so much for the kind words! And yes, I adore that about Peter! It is his great strength and why I would love to know him as a person. I don't deny his hotness (obviously), but he's one of those people who I think I'd be richer just for knowing.

God, love this! Peter loving Sylar so easily at this point kind of doesn't fit with my head canon for The Wall, but screw that this is an awesome fanfic. I always love the idea of Sylar having a nightmare and Peter comforting him and then for them to have this conversation afterwards, just yes! Yes to all of it!

Thank you! I'm not sure how long it's been here, that the two of them have been in Matt's head together. I need to go back and reread my fic! Most of this I wrote back in August and this is the first "new" chapter. I need to make sure I'm doing it right.

Wow, I was not expecting that. That was horrible and wonderful all at the same time. Horrible (in a good way) the back story you've given Sylar and that nightmare...oh my that was described so well. It was painful to read.

Wonderful everything else. Sylar was so real. I feel so bad for him. I couldnt believe when Peter said he loved Sylar. Was not expecting that so soon. Wow. I can see why Sylar was blown away, I know I was. So sweet. I can't wait to see what happens next and if/how you resolve this storyline.

I'd say more if I wasn't so tired. :-)

Yay! You commented! I'm tired, too, so there's not much else I'm going to say, except that Peter in canon was really fast to blurt out his love for Simone, and I'm not sure what he said to Caitlin, but he was all over her for kissy-face within a few days of meeting her. So given that the (positive) relationship with Sylar has been building for a while, I think it was reasonable.
