Suggestion 1: Don't believe everything you read.

Silverlight is the core of WP7 and is one of the fastest growing web technologies.

.Net Forms isn't dead.
WPF isn't dead.
Silverlight is based on WPF.

And while I'm a fan of WinForms, in .Net 4, they introduced a WPF container for Forms and a Forms container for WPF, which makes them essentially interchangable.

WinForms has stagnated becauae there's not much more they can do with it.

And remember, I *like* WinForms.
