Well, China was an interesting choice for the Olympics. In the future, just as historians now constantly analyze and reanalyze the Berlin Olympics as one of those moments when sport and world politics collided and changed each other, so (in theory) will historians analyze the Chinese Olympics.
It's going to be interesting.
And by "interesting", I mean I'm almost scared to watch.
I think it'll be good to bring the world's scrutiny to China. It'll be interesting to see how they cover things up to save face, and whether what they show to be temporary "for show" or actual long term effecting.
