Mostly it is just about speed. They both work pretty similarly. But they do change the wafer configuration so you can't mess it up at least. :) Back in the day it was way more complicated.

i was just talking to someone who was telling me that there used to be a difference in the wattage... and if you put the wrong one in .... bzzst... big trouble.
