Heat of the Sun on Region 2 DVD at last

As far as I'm concerned, one of the most entertaining things ITV has ever managed (back in those now swiftly vanishing days when they did quality entertainment) was Heat of the Sun, three feature length episodes set in the Kenya of the 1930s, starring Trevor Eve as a Police Superintendent sent out to set up CID operations (as well as to get him out ( Read more... )

If you want something new to collect (if like me you don't have the DVDs) Zone Horror is starting Mutant X from the beginning starting the 29th. Mark's never seen it. I did warn him the first half of season 1 is a bit dodgy but as he's a fan and the only one of us still watching Knight Rider he'll be fine ;-)

Actually, I've been collecting Mutant X since Zone Horror first started showing it, so my collection got completed a week or two back. I finally remember watching the final episode first time round and it was as cliff-hangery as I feared it would be, given that they were all set to go to Season 4 when one of the production companies went bust and took the whole thing down with it.

Some while back I got Season 3 of La Femme Nikita on DVD, so I think I'll watch that instead of recording more stuff. Unless something I really feel the need to collect starts showing, of course.

I didn't discover it was on there till we got the Sky + box and by then it was halfway through season 2. I wanted to watch Season 3 because I'm sure I missed a couple of episodes when it was on Sky 1 - they stripped it daily in 2004. But Mark was the one that suggested we try and watch from the beginning.

Yeah, I remember the season 4 thing, I have the link saved somewhere to a Sci-Fi wire news item that promised wonderful things - as they always do LOL!

Andromeda suffered the same fate but was finished because of Kevin Sorbo. Taking of which I'm finally watching season 5 thanks to ITV4, it's not completely awful but I do mourn how it started with so much potential.

At Christmas, I got hold of all 5 seasons of Andromeda (it seemed important to me at the time, not sure why). Eventually, I will work my way through them. The early episodes take me back to that busy time on AndromedaUK, when there was so much to discuss.
