Given that I face the prospect of moving back to the South East sometime in 2009 (depending on the housing market) I was looking up the proceedure for changing a driver's license and preferably getting a photocard license instead of the old paper one and what became clear was that the best way to go about it was to have an up to date passport,

My passport doesn't expire till next year and I didn't realise that I could have got it changed into my new married name for free, if I'd asked the registrar to complete a form.

But as it's still current, I was able to get a new photo driving licence, and save myself over £50!

You shouldn't need to get your photo signed though, I never have for a renewal, did David's last year - upgraded to a full adult passport - and Mark's a couple of months ago.
