My brother, a former marine who had been part of the landing force at Iwo Jima, is also buried at the RI Vets Cemetery.

The catafalque used for ofiicials lying in-state in the capital was orignal built for the funeral of Abraham Lincoln and the same one has been used ever since. Some notable stiffs who have rested on include: James Garfield, William McKinley, George Dewey, Unknown Soldier WWI, Warren Harding, William Howard Taft, John J. Pershing, Unkown Soldier WWII and Korea, JFK, Douglas MacArthrur,Herbert Hoover, Dwight D. Eisenhower, J. Edgar Hoover, LBJ, Unknown Soldier Vietnam, and Ronald Reagan
