You know, I keep walking by this tree on the way to the library every week, and I have been perplexed as to exactly what kind tree it is. The sidewalk under it is purple with stains from the squished berries.

You just answered my question!

Must be. One tree borders my driveway and produces an annual slippery mess, but I love the tree.

I have to tell you, I've been very tempted to pick those berries right off the tree and eat them. Having grown up in the country, I know that that's not a terribly great idea unless you know what kind of berry it is. ;)

They look sinful!

Is it true that all around the mulberry bush, the monkey chased the weasel?

All around the mulberry bush
The monkey chased the weasel.
The monkey thought 'twas all in fun.
Pop! goes the weasel.

Except that mulberries grow on mulberry trees, not bushes. Perhaps there is another botanical variety.

We need to record this as a duet, Dave. It would top the charts.
