Oh Jesus Christ...

We've had issues with this at school. Only this year have we gotten them to STOP SERVING PEANUT BUTTER at lunch.

Thank the Gods. I don't want to die.

This was an issue for me in HS too. Scary!

The ABC article is very good, and treats with appropriate respect and seriousness a major school issue. I wish they'd mentioned teachers with food allergies at least once, though, and I say this as someone who had a student, earlier this year, spray gardenia-scented air freshener in my face to see what happened (I had a massive athsma attack and spent the afternoon in the clinic - I'm just glad my allergy isn't bad enough to send me to the hospital or worse ( ... )

what scares me are the kids who are the most likely targets of said bullies, the kids who don't even have reliable friends
