5) I think so, yes.
7) My family line is apperantly the result of a vampirically infected male mating with a human some generations back. It left an extra and dorment tag in the DNA. When I got infected and then went through a lot of...different things...the tag was 'activated' somehow. By the time everyone was through getting me uninfected and not sick anymore, the tag had altered me. So I got the heightened senses, regeneration, and immunity to just about everything out there.

No super strength or super speed though...
