I'm running KDE 4.2.1 for Windows via Wine in PCLinuxOS.

Wow, Kris. You've managed to write a post that makes no sense to me whatsoever! :D

W00t! I confused Jenna! :D

Seriously though. Explaination of what KDE is. Wine provides a compatibility layer that allows me to use windows software in Linux. PCLinuxOS is the version of Linux that I run. Any other questions? :D

Hey, Mike! I'm surprised you haven't posted to this yet. (or maybe you haven't seen it yet?)

because LJ doesn't have an edit function (really, LJ?!)

The KDE people recently ported over KDE and its different applications to Windows.

This is perverse in so many ways.

It also saddens me that you can't (that I can see) use KDE as a shell in its Windows port. Seems about the only reason you'd want it ...

Well, according to this Ars Technica article, http://arstechnica.com/open-source/news/2009/01/testing-kde-42-release-candidate-on-windows.ars/2, you can. I'm still working on it, though.

AHA! you need to install 4.2.0, THEN upgrade to 4.2.1 Plasma is not included in the 4.2.1 release. very odd.
