There was no way I could have produced much totally from scratch when I was working except a cheese omelette (preferably with ready grated cheese!), or poached eggs on toast. I think the family would soon have rebelled.
I agree 100%. Also the fact that pre-cooked meals were created first for allowing working women to be able to fulfill their "duties" at home as well as at work. 50/60 years later, women now are guilty again, in this case of not devoting enough time to healthy cooking, because everybody knows that's our first duty. We're really absurd.
