Due to the unexpected popularity of a recent post, this blog is now the Bad-Things-Happening-To-Puppies Network until further notice.

Let's set the mood.

I was going to leave things alone since we were not going to agree.

You made a wonderful, logical and thoughtful point. But you has to go and ruin it with a video for shock value.

Though this is an extreme example, this is what you did:

"Child porn is bad."

Until your LJ goes back to it's "puppy friendly" former status I will not be reading your entries. Please contact me when I can safely come back.

It's everywhere on the net. It's kind of like discussing the Hindenburg without putting in the famous film clip. I'll also add that it's appeared on many news stations - this is not something people find too shocking to see. Most people who're complaining about it have seen it and are complaining about the content. The same cannot be said about child porn.

On another note, I'm afraid your very aversion to it proves my point better than anything ( especially in light of some things I've posted in the past ). My point wasn't so much that it was bad, but that it was universal and people only felt it was "wrong" when it happened to a socially unacceptable animal. That particular video affected me on so many levels. I'm not sure I can even fully explain.

About you being gone for 2 weeks, I never meant to give you the impression that I didn't care or wonder where you were. But this is not the first time you'd been gone for a while. And once it was because you felt you were spending too much time online.

I go through periods where I post several times a day, and at other times not a peep for weeks. I assumed it was the same for all.

Assumed being the operative word. I should have e-mailed you.

It's okay, I was just unable to access the internet for a while, and felt a little downcast when I found not a single person had inquired about me, including people I know off-LJ.

I'm sorry if what I posted bothered you - that honestly wasn't my intention. I hope our friendship doesn't end over this.
