i'm honestly just mad because they're tossing away so many AWESOME meanings from japanese names they could so easily not have tossed away. simply because ~it's america in a pokemon game u guiz~ even though only hiun/castelia was the only city based off of new york really.

if hilbert meant "transparent" i'd BEGRUDGINGLY ACCEPT IT but it doesn't. stop white-washing everything and ruining so much cool meaning auuugh.

japanese tends to have words that sboth sound prettier and have prettier meanings attached, and clearly (north) americans have no need for actual purpose.

while i didn't like them at first, i was willing to accept "whitlea" and "blair" because they meant black and white. these just mean "battle" and it's like "what?"

they do! so much can be said in a japanese name, but you can still make it relevant in english if you use effort! like thorton's name in japanese was soem sort of spiky thornbrush. LOOK WHAT HIS ENGLISH NAME IS?

professor araragi = japanese yew. WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL HER PROFESSOR YEW IN ENGLISH...
