Yep! If you have the Pets expansion pack you can send them off to hunt (after learning on a cat toy) and they can catch turtles and snakes and rodents and bugs and lizards and birds. You can go out and catch them, too, if you see them. If you can get the collection helper, it's a lot easier to find them for yourself. Annnnd you can get a terrarium to keep the turtles in, too. Pet turtles!
Teach a dog to hunt and it'll bring back gems and metals and meteors, and occasionally chunks of special decorative things you can put together if you've got all the parts.
Yay SIMS! You know, I never was able to get the videos you talked about. Like I just went to look again and I still don't have the linky thingy. Idk. I guess it doesn't so much matter now, with 4 & all, but anyway.
Another vote for pics, btw. ;)
I miss being able to have children build skills. Kids in 4 build skills but it's just Motor, Social...something and something. They can't just paint and gain painting skills.
I remember people that dark in 3. Pretty cool. Here's hoping he's not all borked next time. xD
Wonk. :-\ I went and got like 400 points today (there's a thing that I want that's on sale, but only for a couple more days. Must hoard all the things).

One of my fave things with little vampire kids was having them want to be, say, the jack of all trades and getting it for them within their first day of childhood. I haven't had ANY vamp babies this run (YET) and the skill building has been AGONY. Not being able to get any 'real' skills at all would be awful. How do you explain Mozart if kids can't play piano? (though I guess they still can't in 3, but, you know)
Alas, Sim Hubs to be was still borked, so I had them break up. His name was Lowell. Ekaterine and Olga moved out and now she's making eyes at someone else. Olga is still content in her antisocial cave of wonders.
Right now I have a BUNCH of photos saved up (new kids! Martigan the cat! People that moved out!), but NOTHING has happened of interest. I think the most interesting thing to happen in the last 25 Sim years is that Katia maxed out her fishing skill.

I should do a post about my sims sometime. If only to document all the stuff I've put sim!Volare through.
