If it really is Obito, I will be flabbergasted. It better be his plothole brother or Rin in an illusion or something, otherwise I'll have to eat crow-job. But yeah, it'll probably take Kakashi down for the count. Pretty wild to see Gai, of all people, telling Kakashi to calm down, haha. I've always loved that being overwrought in his free time never affects his professionalism on the field. This was a great chapter for him and Naruto...a victory for former dead-lasts everywhere.
I was sort of supporting the Tobi is Obito theory for the ~drama~ but now that Kishi is actually hinting it might be true, I don't buy it anymore... He has to be trolling. If not, there has to be a ton of backstory to explain it all (and I wouldn't be surprised if Orochimaru had something to do with it).

Yeah, Gai is so crazy when he's just training or hanging out in Konoha, but when he actually has to be serious, he's dead serious. I love that about him.
I agree, the Gates should probably if Kishi makes sense be used. That Chekov's gun has been sitting on the table, loaded, since Lee introduced it to us, and I've been expecting Lee to pull them out a few times now, and we have the chance here with Gai. But I'm really scared what the reveal + a death could do to Kakashi. D= I'm torn between wanting to see what Gai's death does to Kakashi (because I'm evil and I'd like to see how Kishi has him react), or wanting to see them die together (awww).
I could see Kamui being used with the gates, maybe, to make Gai's ultimate speed and strength nigh unavoidable by Tobi, but I'm not sure how much Kakashi has in him to do that. It could be a last ditch effort, though since the series is named Naruto, I imagine Naruto has to make the winning attack on Tobi.
But besides all that, just so excited to see more and more of them, working together, caring about each other. Gai being there for Kakashi...! Eeee! Rivalry is so lovely sometimes!
