Email I just got from my supervisor:

I'm happy that you've found a position that suits you, but it's too bad our timing is a little off. I'm just about to open a salaried position in the reporting group for a web editor. Based on your message, it sounds like your decision is firm, but if you reconsider, let me know. The position here should be ( Read more... )

That sounds exactly like my ex-phone operator... I had resigned and they called me for a few days with lucrative offers.
They sound like they have finally realised what sort of an amazing employee they are loosing.
Is it me, or it is possible that they never considered opening said position before you filed in a resignation?
(This was written by a person, who was recently fired, because her boss decided to employ his own, almost ex-wife... I was only filling a vacancy, but still... Absurdity of life I guess [hmm, probably misspelt it...])
And good luck with your new job :) .

Nah, we've discussed the possibility of a position opening up before, and they made a point of saying they have to make the job posting public with HR and can't reserve it exclusively for me. I believe it was just coincidental timing.

Sorry to hear you got fired. :(

Thanks for the well-wishes, though if the pay is good enough I might stay where I am after all!

I hate that after you took the job, they kind of make it... worse for you. I'm sorry this keeps on going and going.

Eh, it's not a big deal. I'm mostly just annoyed 'cause I was proud to finally make my BIG DECISION, and then suddenly I might have to rescind it. lol I think if the job I have now truly wants to keep me for enough pay, though, that decision would be much easier.
