Day Two (actually 3) of the hard-drive purge and fandom evacuation is going swimmingly, if a little on the late side (I got distracted . . . Back to the Future was on TV

Cool idea, great fic. I love stories(or even actual episodes) where the characters are forced to interact with their alternate selves. The whole concept of small things making big changes really fascinates me. I'd love to see an episode deal with this kind of thing(manX is womanX in Y universe), but I doubt they ever will. Anyway, well done.
Thanks! Yeah, I'd love to see this in an episode (it wouldn't even have to be slashy). In fact, I'm waiting for the day that Joe Flannigan gets tired of SGA and the producers find that one scrap of originality they have in them and decide not to just have his show up every once and a while like O'Neill, but keep the character, switched into a girl's body and hire a really hot actress to play him.
Somehow, I don't think it'll happen, but hey . . . fingers crossed.
(If I had been in their position when R.D.Anderson left I'd have killed off O'Neill and brought in clone-Jack or something like it. A body switch would have been possible too. So, I like your idea.)
This is wonderful! I loved all the little references (I was proud of myself for being right when I read the citations) and the gender roles. Although it was just a small section, my favorite is the comparison of John's relationship with his father versus Jordan. Fathers do treat daughters differently, even if they wish they had a son- and supporting the diving versus taking John flying illustrated that.
As an aside, very original idea to have Jordan into diving. I don't think I've run across that before.
I love seeing a cliche like genderchange explored in a new way. Lovely story, thank you for sharing it.
Thanks! I'm glad that you found it to be different than the cliche (what I was trying to achieve). The diving thing was actually hard to come up with - I wanted something that might be like flying, but different enough so that it didn't translate to 'hmmm . . . maybe it would be cool to go up in a plane.' Actually my first instinct was to do iceskating, but then I didn't want to copy icarus and her wonderful 'Out of Bounds' WIP.
gosh, this was good. riveting. It was certainly interesting reading it through John's POV: exploring the gender side of the equation and John's realisation of McKay's role in his life.
mini-edit, if you don't mind Is he your son traveled her from the future to do Oedipal
Thanks! I'm happy you liked it and thanks for the edit. I'm trying to post a bunch of things at once now, so I didn't get a beta. Hopefully I got all of the big mistakes ;-)
Enjoyed this, you kept Jordan fairly close to John (love that she hadn't realized her math skills attracted Rodney)The kids were great, MJ had the McKay rants down pat! Adored how differently John's dad dealt with a daughter.
