Title: Five Ways Kate and Radek Don’t Start the Revolution Author: Gaia (gaiaanarchyCharacters/Pairing: Zelenka/Heightmeyer in some sections, minimal McShep in others

oh! these are awesome and scary, just chock full of lovely images! Kate in white fur, dresses with guns on her thighs, and Radek, he's just a little treasure isn't he?
The last one is the most chilling, because--yes! something must be done! Fabulous, all the way around.
Thanks! I'm so glad that you liked it! I think I've seen a few too many Bond movies for the AUs, but it was most definitely the last one that inspired me - that there are all kinds of revolutions, and I think that losing trust in your leadership is one.
Zelenka/Heightmeyer!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, how I love my little WTF pairing!! :)
The AUs were all fascinating, but I lovelovelove the last, non-AU one!!! I got so disillusioned with that stretch of episodes at the end of season 2 and beginning of season 3 that I've actually stopped watching the show, and I kept wanting someone to stand up and say that lines had been crossed. And Radek and Kate would have been perfect people to do that.
Thanks! I'm so glad you liked it! And that there's someone who'd appreciate the pairing. I agree with you on the disillusionment, but I think it's more with the way they paint Weir than a lot of the things that I had Zelenka cite. She's just the least convincing diplomat ever.
And that there's someone who'd appreciate the pairing
Yeah, I think I'm one of maybe half a dozen people! It doesn't really even make much sense to me, but I was writing one of the few Atlantis fics I've written, and Radek rolled over, and suddenly there was Kate. And I said "Huh???" But I went with it, and now I've got a bit of a soft spot for them. I've written a couple of other little things about them, too.
And I agree that they've done a terrible job writing Elizabeth, who so easily could have been my favorite character if only they'd make her interesting. It was the combination, I think, of them crossing lines and not addressing the fact that they were (I'd be more than happy for them to go all darkside, but the show needs to acknowledge that), and of the fact that I no longer liked the characters. That awful ep with that annoying pheromone guy in which rape became a joke was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.
And, er, sorry about the mini-rant! *re-reads fic*
Good for you for coming up with the pairing. It honestly never would have occurred to me if not for this ficathon, but I could see it working.
I completely agree about the one with the fat horrible rapist guy. It's pretty much my least favorite thing I've seen on TV in a long time - and that includes judge judy. It wasn't enough to get me to stop watching the show, but it was close.
OMG, you crossed SGA with BNW. I read it and squeed. And the rest were awesome and creepy and sad, in turns. And I'm not sure about Kate, but I think Radek would have a serious issue with the slippery slope the expedition finds itself on. If it came to that, I think he would start the revolution.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I actually recall a fic in which Radek gets seriously upset and resigns from the expedition after Critical Mass, but I can't remember who wrote it or the title. Maybe storyfinders will know.
Thanks! I'm so glad you liked it! I haven't read BNW in a long time, so I was wondering if I got all of the references right. I guess it's true that they wouldn't send out a team, but whatever. I think it might be cool to expand that universe a bit . . . hmmm.
Wow. I loved them all, though I think 1 and 5 were my favourites. 5 for the exploration of the episodes moral ambiguity via them and 1, oooh espionage fic! :D Lovely way to mix it up for the request because they both fit so well into their roles there and it's nice to get little snippets of interesting scenarios like that. Very happy with it all, thanks for writing it. :)
